Enduring Ritual: Feed the Tree Prelude

This project started as a class assignment asking students to reinvent the box tote. It evolved into an exploration of wedding symbolism, through material and form. Using dramatic proportions akin to those of voluminous wedding gowns, mother of pearl apliqués, and a wedding button style closure, the Wedding Bag was born, serving as a deconstruction of traditional bridal aesthetics. Expanding on this concept, I designed a look that mirrors the bag’s themes, featuring wide leg denim capri pants and a loose suede top with a shell closure. By blending raw, durable textiles with more delicate material embellishments, this look reimagines the wedding ritual as something that has strongly endured through time as a symbol of purity and fragility.
