Nostalgia, a desire and longing for the past. Our piece explores the whimsy and ease of youth, while also realizing that these times have passed us and fade further away as we grow up. Our choice of materials (quilts, dated patterns, children’s books and toys) capture particular snapshots of childhood While our application of these materials (shredding books, evocative silhouette) calls to the disruption of these memories for the present reality. This piece is not meant to evoke acceptance, but rather the cruelties of change and a resistance towards responsibility.
